Experienced Project Manager (GDPR)

In short, we are looking for an experienced and high-calibre Project Managerwith a strong background in successful project delivery to assume a key rolein an extensive programme of work underway with a very special client in the heart of the City. Knowledge of GDPR/Privacy and financial services is desirable but not a must.
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing continued risk remediation required for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Project and will work closely with other organisation initiatives. Work required to meet minimum GDPR compliance is now complete and the organisation want to press ahead and further improve its privacy capability. A comprehensive mapping and report phase has taken place followed by high priority remediation work. The project manager will now be required to push this remediation work forwards and continue to improve the privacy capabilities within the organisation.
The Project Manager will report to the central GDPR Project Manager to complete organisation wide remediation work and will work collaboratively with the Project team and business areas to ensure that the processes, plans and supporting artefacts are adhered to and documented. This will include:
Manage appropriate SMEs to aid the business with understanding the
impact of legislation on their personal processing activities, and
accordingly their risk profile
Manage the validation of the information using relevant toolsets
Work with the Privacy team to ensure continued risk assessments are undertaken to
populate a risk register and an approach to prioritising mitigations
From the output of the prioritisations, work with Legal and Technology to
plan remediation activities
The role has a broad responsibility to work across Technology and Business
divisions to ensure that the solutions delivered are capable of achieving the benefits
defined in the original business case working within the project time, cost and
quality constraints. The role requires knowledge and experience of embedding
Regulatory Change across a whole business.
Chair workshops and review meetings to evaluate business feedback, including improvements to the privacy team business knowledge when required
Is able to demonstrate strong interpersonal & communication skills within
a busy and matrix managed environment
Is a mature and confident influencer, is able to convince the business
areas of the benefits for undertaking this exercise
Producing quality documentation/outputs and ensuring the same of team
Displaying joined up ways of working with all key delivery stakeholders
Effective managing the key project control mechanisms; risks, issues,
dependencies, assumptions and constraints
Manage and drive delivery against the plan, with a focus on accuracy and
minimising avoidable slippages
Clear articulation of project status against each business areas at Project
Boards with early surfacing of risks to successful delivery
Able to manage competing priorities, escalate to others where appropriate
Proactive ownership and resolution of issues working collaboratively with
the project team and business areas to reach resolution with minimal
Knowledge and experience of data protection/privacy and regulatory
change is desired as is knowledge of the financial services industry.
A recognised project or programme management qualification e.g. Prince 2, MSP, APMP or PMP.
Experience of managing projects spanning multiple business areas within

SC clearance (those that don’t hold SC will be put through this vetting at no cost – this vetting will last for 10 years)
